New rule changes effective.
On June 6, 2005, the Board approved the filing of several rule changes. These changes are listed on the Register of Ohio.

At the Register of Ohio website, select "Browse Rules by Filing Agency," then "4701-Accountancy Board," "Recently Adopted Rules," and "Search." The rules should then be displayed on your browser. Selecting any of the rule numbers will provide details concerning the rule changes. These rules became effective August 25, 2005.

Continuing education deadline for 2006 is now December 31.

The CPE verification selection process for licensees renewing in 2005 has already begun. Any licensee who obtains or renews the Ohio permit for 2006-2008 after the January 3, 2006 deadline will automatically be subject to continuing education verification. In addition, all licensees who obtain the Ohio permit online, and who formerly held the Ohio registration, are automatically subject to continuing education verification.

For the period January 4, 2006 through February 3, 2006, the late filing fees for a licensee whose Ohio permit expired December 31, 2005 will be $100 if the licensee is practicing public accounting, and $50 if the licensee is employed outside public accounting.
